Awakening

Awakening
By Astarte

Opening my eyes, I found only darkness
Attempting to move, my body lay still
I had no memories, only emptiness
My mind was fuzzy, a gray haze
Where was I? What had happened?

Strangely, the blackness comforted me
Caressing me with its ebony fingers
Lulling me into a sleep state
I tried to grasp any memory, any straw
But found only an empty vacuum.

A hand slowly caressed my forehead.
Its touch was cold but comforting
Yet, its owner's face eluded me
A voice whispered softly, deftly
"Embrace me. Embrace the darkness."

My eyes flew open, unlocking my mind
Memories of orbs of azure blue
Of flashing white pearl, then nothing.
"O Vampire Master," I cried
What have you done?"

Your lips brushed my cheek, murmuring
"I only fulfilled your own desire,"
Your smile was soft, eyes so blue
Once again I was lost in you
Cradled in your arms, I was safe.

"Now, fledgling, it is time.
Time to learn, time to eat.
Time to embrace the darkness."
A sound of rushing wind
And, we flew into the night.
